The first thing you do is take different samples with different filter papers to determine the total weight of copper stopped by each filter paper. Then, with this information, you prepare a graph showing the diameters of the copper fines in the emulsion. This is the method you use to select the best filter paper for your system. The other parameters you have are over time and are the quantity of copper fines produced per tonne of rod and the change in the quality of your copper rod surface. If you want to actually measure the copper fine diameters there are specific instruments (Malvern Instruments Ltd at www.malvern.co.uk/home/index.htm ).

Thank you for your suggestion. But ours is not properzi line. It is contirod line.
I contacted filteration unit manufacturer & they suggested me superfine filter paper.
But I was interested to know what is the criteria behind selection of this paper.

OK thank you kishor,
I presumed that it was Properzi when I noted that your business associate, Iftar, who had exactly the same Internet IP number number as you on June 16, 2007, identified your line as a CCR line.
Generally speaking, CCR is associated with Properzi, SCR with Southwire and Contirod with Hazelett.
My former company purchased, installed and has run a Krupp-Hazlett line for more more than three decades with very good success using the recommended filtration media. I presume your filtration unit manufacturer has much experience with Contirod lines and therefore brings a very sound recommendation to the table. You might also ask the Hazelett Strip-Casting Corporation about their experiences in this regard.

Thanks for your reply. Basically we are using this cccr terminology for continuous cast copper rod. I think SCR, Contirod are their trade names. But technology is CCCR. So generaly we use this term cccr.
Once again thanks for your reply. I must admit that I am gaining lot of knowledge from this forum.

Hello again,
You are correct kishor in that SCR and Contirod are the trade names of Southwire and the Hazlett Strip-Casting Corporation respectively. This set them apart from Continuus-Properzi S.p.A.
Just type in the letters "CCR" and the word "copper" in Google and see who comes up: none other than Continuus-Properzi S.p.A. www.properzi.com/
