Resistance Heating Wire

Hi Venerable Scientists,

Is there any one who interested in production of resistance heating wire?
What is the process in order to manufacture resistance heating wire which is Resistohm-145 quality.

I wonder that Is it possible to produce by just wire drawing which cold?
Is the heating resistance wire shaped in a different way from cold drawing?

Kanthal (Alloy 875/815), a ferromagnetic alloy, is a family of iron-chromium-aluminum (Fe-Cr-Al) alloys used in a wide range of resistance and high-temperature applications they are also used in the form of resistance wires.

We suggest you discuss your drawing requirements with a well experienced manufacturer of ferrous wire drawing machinery to learn the details of the latest technology in drawing/ rolling Resistohm alloy 145 steel alloy.

- Is tempering necessarily required after cold rolling?
- Is bright annealing necessarily due to problems of oxidation?

I'm sorry but I am not an expert in the ferrous side of the wire and cable industry. The gentleman who moderates this Technical Division however is a true expert and hopefully he will be able to give you answers to your questions.
