Greetings,
Does anyone know of a formula with which I can calculate the temperature of the wire based on it's dimensions, enviornment, and electrical load placed on it?
This is for the purpose of better refining our electrical annealing process. (SS wire being annealed, 304, 316, etc.)

I suggest you discuss this with a mechanical engineering heat transfer PhD professor at your local university and see if he/ she or somebody else such as a doctoral or post doc student will derive this for you (for a price of course).

yes, is possible to calculate the wire temperature in base of this electrical properties.

For do this, you need to measure some properties in two points in the same annealing line. Basically, with the electric resistance of the first point (calculated from the amp and the volts of the line) and the temperature of the first point (ambient temp) you can calculate the resistance of the second point, and with this, the temp.

You can found the basic formulas in the nonferrous wire handbook.
