5/4/2021:  The next staging of wire Southeast Asia—and its sister show, Tube Southeast Asia—will now be held Feb. 9-11, 2022 at the Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre (BITEC) in Bangkok, Thailand.

A press release from organizers Messe Düsseldorf said that the event, which was to be held Sept. 22-24, is being moved to the new dates to “allow for optimum international participation.” It noted that in the past, over 90% of the exhibitors came from overseas countries such as Austria, France, Germany, Great Britain, India, Japan and Korea.

“It is anticipated that by next year with further easing of (Covid-19) travel restrictions and ongoing successful vaccine deployments worldwide, there will be a more optimistic environment for companies to do business safely and effectively at these trade fairs,” the release said.
The two trade fairs were first held in 1997. At the last staging in 2019, international exhibitors from 29 countries participated at the trade fairs, while 45% of trade visitors came from outside Thailand.

4/6/2021: Messe Düsseldorf has appointed Daniel Ryfisch as project director of the Global Portfolio wire, Tube & Flow Technologies, as part of a reorganization of the team in charge of its 15 trade fairs in six countries. He has experience in both international and national trade fair businesses. He started with Messe Düsseldorf as a trainee, and from 2008 he held the position of project manager for the worldwide satellites of the trade fairs wire, Tube and Metec in Russia, India, China and the UAE.

Since 2015, he was also in charge of wire and Tube on the operational level as deputy director. Last September, he became project director for the wire, Tube and VALVE WORLD EXPO events, and their international satellites in China, Thailand, Brazil, Russia and India. He will be responsible for both the strategic orientation of the trade fair themes and the expansion of the exhibition business abroad. He holds a degree in economics from the University of Cologne. He will continue to report to Global Portfolio Director Friedrich-Georg Kehrer, who will change his focus on developing new business in the fields of wire, Tube and Flow Technologies. Based in Düsseldorf, Germany, Messe Düsseldorf is one of the world’s leading organizers of trade shows, including wire Düsseldorf, the industry’s largest such event for the wire and cable industry.

Messe Düsseldorf Shanghai (Messe) and its longstanding regional partner SECRI (Shanghai Electric Cable Research Institute Co., Ltd.) announced that they are expanding their cooperate efforts by working together to organize the 12th staging of WireShow – China International Wire & Cable Industry Exhibition (WireShow).

A press release said that the Messe will work with SECRI to stage the event Aug. 31-Sept. 2 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre. The Messe has not previously been part of the event, but it does put on wire China, which SECRI supports. “With this addition, Messe Düsseldorf Shanghai and SECRI will offer trade fairs for the global wire and cable industry every year in Shanghai.”

In addition to the live exhibits at the fairgrounds, WireShow 2021 will feature interactive online showrooms for companies not able to travel to Shanghai. At the last staging of the WireShow in 2019, 419 Chinese and foreign exhibitors showcased their products on 25,000 sq m of exhibit space to 14,360 visitors from 41 countries.
